Today I am going to tell you more about
street food in the incomparable and majestic city of Lisbon. Of course my
favourite since it is my beloved capital and one of my favourite cities to be.
In Lisbon, street food is not something as
developed as, for example, in New York, but we still have some trucks around
and naturally with the freshest and tastiest products that will blow your mind.
Portuguese people are still adapting to
this concept of eating while standing, without having the comfort of the
restaurant or the cosiness of their chair in an esplanade and sometimes doubt
of the sanitary conditions of the food trucks, of course without any reason,
since they are all certified.
The origins of food trucks are most of times
the same. The founders are usually young people with less than 40 years that
felt the necessity of having a business of their own.
Some of them are for example the members of
Frua: Vera is a veterinary, Catarina is an agri-environmental engineer and
Carlos is a forester. They gave up their jobs to dedicate themselves to street food.
They don’t sell food. They sell natural juices prepared at the moment and at
very good prices. I would definitely try those!
We also have the Hotdog In Style food truck
of Pedro and Paula who obviously sell hotdogs but kept their jobs but at the
same time make people’s day tastier with the most amazing hotdogs.
As you can see there is some amazing and
inviting food trucks in Lisbon as well as in the whole country waiting to sell
you an amazing meal made with the freshest of ingredients and all the joy and
hospitality characteristic of our amazing people.
Believe me, Lisbon is one of the most
beautiful cities in the world and very accessible, so come and don’t forget to
